The Ohio Facilities Construction Commission has approved the selection of David M. Williamson as the permanent Executive Director.
Mr. Williamson most recently served as Superintendent for the Division of Industrial Compliance at the Ohio Department of Commerce, a position he has held during both the Kasich and Taft administrations. Previously, he served as Executive Director of the Ohio State Board of Cosmetology and spent 28 years in active duty in the United States Air Force, where he rose to the rank of Colonel.
Mr. Williamson earned a Bachelor’s Degree from Ohio University and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of Montana. He is a member of Rotary International where he has served as the Fundraising Chair, Master Sergeant-at-Arms, and Chair of the Veterans Affairs Committee.
Director Williamson plans to use his extensive background and experience in government, public service, strategic planning, and professional service management to lead the Commission forward with the objective of meeting the facility needs of our public schools, state supported colleges and universities, and state agencies both now and in the future.
He began his duties with the Commission on November 9, 2015. He succeeds David Chovan, who served as the interim Executive Director since October 2014. Mr. Chovan will remain as Chief Operations Officer for the Commission.
