February 10, 2011 (COLUMBUS) Diane Brown of Whitehall has been named as the 2010 “Anthony Tripodi Award” winner by the Ohio School Facilities Commission.
The award, named for former Ohio School Facilities Commission (OSFC) Chief Fiscal Officer, the late Anthony Tripodi, is presented to the OSFC staff member who best exemplifies Tripodi’s dedication to public service and his commitment to Ohio’s school children.
“Each year, the Tripodi award winner is nominated and selected by the OSFC staff,” said OSFC Interim Executive Director Eric Bode. “Diane’s selection is in recognition of her professionalism on the job and her concern for the future of school children throughout the state. The award takes on special significance because it comes from her peers – the people who know how important her contribution is.”
In her role as a Project Coordinator, Brown oversees the flow of construction trade contracts for OSFC-funded school construction projects and ensures the timely execution of contracts. In 2010 alone, Brown processed more than 1,100 contracts with a total value of approximately $1.4 billion. Additionally, she is responsible for maintaining the agency’s database for contract change orders.
Brown is a long-time Columbus resident and a graduate of North High School. She holds an Associate Degree from the former Columbus Technical Institute. She has been employed at the Commission since its inception in 1997. Prior to that time, she was employed in various positions at the State Architect’s Office. She is active with Epiphany Ministries of Ohio, which provides ministry to incarcerated youth.
