October 26, 2017 (COLUMBUS) – Ohio Governor John Kasich has recognized the Ohio Facilities Construction Commission (OFCC) and its staff for having surpassed 300 LEED-certified K-12 schools in Ohio, more than any other state in the country and making it the world leader in environmentally-friendly buildings. Today marks the effective date for many provisions contained in H.B. 49 that are relevant to the Ohio Facilities Construction Commission (OFCC).  Part of the new law includes a further consolidation of the Ohio School Facilities Commission (OSFC) into OFCC, and as a result all references to OSFC are being eliminated.   This consolidation will not impact the services provided or how we operate as a staff, but you may notice some changes to our website and documents to further...

In June 2015 Amended Substitute House Bill 64 authorized the creation of the Community School Classroom Facilities Grant Program, and created an appropriation of $25  million in state funding to be used for this purpose.  Round 1 grants totaling over $17 million were awarded to eight high performing community schools in 2016.  Grant funding will be available for Round 2.  In close collaboration with the Department of Education, OFCC is currently developing program eligibility...
