The 2017 OSDM is now available. Each year the Commission revises the OSDM with support and valuable input from the design and construction community, school districts, state agencies and other interested parties. We received 21 suggestions for updates this year. The result is a dynamic document that reinforces our commitment to high quality school facilities while maintaining flexibility and local control.
The Telecommunications and Security sections of the OSDM have been substantially rewritten to better alight with the needs-oriented approach to Technology Systems Design. Chapter 9, divisions 27 and 28 have transitioned from prescriptive-based to performance-based criteria for systems design. Additionally, regional cost factors were updated to reflect changes in the labor and materials markets.
