OSFC employee Todd Hager achieves LEED accreditation

February 13, 2009 (COLUMBUS) Todd Hager, Project Administrator for the Ohio School Facilities Commission, has been named a LEED® Accredited Professional (LEED AP). LEED APs have demonstrated a thorough understanding of green building practices and principles and the LEED Rating System.

The OSFC adopted the LEED for Schools rating system in 2007 and buildings funded since that time have been designed using those standards. This energy efficient and environmentally-conscious rating system was developed by the non-profit U.S. Green Building Council. Schools built to this standard have been proven to make a positive impact on student health, test scores, teacher retention, school operational costs, and the environment.

Todd is the fourth OSFC employee to achieve LEED AP status. He joins Franklin Brown and Bill Prenosil, Planning Managers, and Bill Courson, Project Administrator, in receiving this internationally recognized professional designation.

About OFCC

Established in 1997, the Commission is responsible for administration of the state’s school construction and renovation program. The Commission is currently working with, or has completed all necessary work in, nearly two-thirds of the state’s 613 school districts.

On September 10, 2012, the Commission was consolidated with the Office of the State Architect to form the Ohio Facilities Construction Commission. The Ohio School Facilities Commission continues to exist as a separate commission within the new agency, focusing on funding Ohio’s comprehensive K-12 school construction program.
