School Security Resources

School Safety and Security is a priority for the state of Ohio. Through the Ohio School Design Manual, the Ohio Facilities Construction Commission (OFCC) supports a variety of design standards and technology  initiatives to promote and improve safety and security in Ohio’s schools. In addition, OFCC is offering its support to other partners in the commitment to school safety.

The Ohio Department of Public Safety (ODPS) and the Ohio Facilities Construction Commission (OFCC) have completed a study of school security in Ohio as required by Sub. House Bill 318. ODPS and OFCC were required to examine the findings and provide options for cost-effective building security upgrades and other general recommendations for improving school security.
